I'm a Spokanite but I think the little park by the dam downtown is cool. And all the bridges in Riverfront. And Canada Island (I think?) with the little mini amphitheatre.

Also any place with prominent trans/pride flags or swag - Chowderhead and Berserk spring to mind.

Odd factoid: Spokane is the work boot capital of the world, which I as a native Spokanite didn't know until I was 32. White's, Nick's, Franks's, JK, Cruz before he died, a whole town full of bootmaking masters. If you asked them to make a woman's shoe or something for the office they'd be baffled

Now I'm just a simple Portlander/Spokanite but why in hell would you EVER try to drive around there on a game day period unless you absolutely had to

@carmitage.bsky.social Hi, I'm a big fan of your work and former Spokanite. Follow for DM?

With college football back in full swing, I sketched out a theoretical road trip a Spokanite could do to hit a NW game every week of the season. www.inlander.com/culture/foll...
Follow this plan to experience some of the best football the region has to offer
While the NFL might rule the sporting landscape, the atmosphere of attending college football games tends to blow it out of the water. With that...

This makes me feel oddly self conscious. Especially because everyone knows everyone here. I only know of 2 people I follow that are from Spokane and one doesn’t live here anymore

ESPN is showing highlights of Ryne Sandberg's brilliant career. This fellow Spokanite mourns his passing.

2021 Chud Wendle's Spokane Business Owners Council formed with one goal: to get rid of homeless people.

Chris Batten financially signed off on convincing Spokane to forcibly relocate homeless people.

Yes, these leading questions were designed for one result. And they were years in the making.

SPD did this. Shame.

Once again Democrats are doing more to protect republicans in Spokane than any Trump-voting Spokanite would ever do for a "commie lib"

We need new leadership in the Senate. I'd love to see you in that seat!

I know it’s not exactly journalist objectivity but covering this meeting last night made me really fucking proud to be a queer Spokanite.
We joined the queer community at Nyne Bar & Bistro last night for a live watch party of the Spokane City Council meeting, where the council passed an ordinance to protect members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. The vibes were immaculate, and it made us proud to be Spokanites. Read all about it here:

I'm with Jim Bickel. The 75-year-old Spokanite wore a message on his turtleneck Monday, when he attended just the second women’s basketball game of his life: “JuJu. Wish you were here.”

Yes, sir. So do we all.

On USC's Elite Eight loss to UConn:

Swanson: Without JuJu Watkins, USC falls to UConn in Elite Eight
The Trojans – without their injured superstar – are left wondering what might have been after a second straight season ends with a loss to Paige Bueckers and the Huskies.

At least they're doing it right - nice listing!

Sad though, as a one-time Spokanite. Cyan was the only good bit of the town. Well, and maybe Zip's.

This was awesome and as a lifelong Spokanite particularly enjoyed the fleeting cameo.

I once travelled all the way to Brighton to give Alasdair a handy pronunciation guide but forgot it at home, and instead slipped on someone’s spilled drink right in front of him. So some other Spokanite is going to have to take up this mantel.
