I just came to the same conclusion and shifted everything over to Onshape. Now I’m coming to terms with my stuff being public. Super slowness, crashing on quit, super finicky file storage… I tried really hard to make it work, but nope, switching. It’s too bad, I started on AutoCAD back in the 90s 🤷♂️

Super slowness, crashing on quit, super finicky file storage… I tried really hard to make it work, but nope, switching. It’s too bad, I started on AutoCAD back in the 90s 🤷♂️

L'objectif c'est de faire quel genre de trucs ? Des choses géométrique ou de la sculpture ? Si c'est le premier cas, Onshape c'est nickel pour ça, relativement facile à prendre en main et c'est simple de faire du paramètrique (tu déclares tes variables, et tu les appelles (avec ou sans formules)

Jeg håber, at der kommer gode alternativer inden længe. De må for så vidt gerne være 100% online, som eksempelvis Onshape (CAD), så længe de bare fungerer godt, har de funktioner jeg skal bruge, og er lavet i EU. Der er stadig et stykke vej, men det kommer.

I am so fed up with Autodesk Fusion 360. I might just switch to OnShape and let my designs be public. Fusion 360 is SLOW AS HECK even on an M1, takes forever to start, forcibly logs me out every time I open it, and now they seem to have gotten rid of free for non-commercial? Enshittification.

3 tries, 3 fails but the last one is the best yet!
The hub didn't print right, but it just failed after a layer & just straight up clogged for the 3rd time
Spent, probably, about 6-8 hours on the fan intake wave guides in #onshape w that spacer at the bottom
#Resin #3dprinting would be nicer 😂

For a long time I felt that affordable, high quality CAD software was the limiting factor for 3d printing. But now there are affordable commercial software for personal use (e.g. solidworks and onshape) and the open source tools have improved a ton!
