It's remarkable that New Wave has so many faces.
In Belgium (and Europe in general I think) it’s darker and more gothic or crossover with EBM/industrial.
In the US, it’s more upbeat rock and synth pop.
The UK sits in the middle with post-punk, goth and synthpop.

A tall, ornate Victorian obelisk-style gravestone stands amid a blanket of fallen autumn leaves in York Cemetery. The monument is darkened with age, its stone surface streaked with algae. The obelisk tapers upward in several tiers, each section decorated with Gothic-style detailing, including pointed arches and carved foliage motifs. Surrounding it are several older, weathered headstones leaning at various angles. Bare branches and evergreen shrubs frame the scene, giving it a quiet peaceful atmosphere under an overcast sky. York Cemetery is one of the finest examples of a 19th-century garden cemetery. It was established in 1837, designed by the architect J.P. Pritchett, who also designed York’s famous chapel and many notable city buildings. The cemetery reflects the Victorian garden cemetery movement, which sought to combine natural beauty with solemn remembrance, creating peaceful, landscaped spaces for the dead within the growing industrial cities. It covers around 24 acres and contains over 55,000 graves, including memorials to soldiers, local dignitaries, artisans, and everyday citizens of York. The site fell into neglect in the 20th century but was rescued in the 1980s by a volunteer-led trust. Today, it’s both a functioning burial ground and a place of historic and ecological significance, home to mature trees, wildlife, and striking funerary architecture like the obelisk shown here.

Stepped away from the LEAP stuff for a bit and decided to work on some world building for my demons' hell setting + explanation of each layer

A visual layout of the nine circles of hell based off of Dante's Inferno, with each layer depicting a rough sketch of what their environments look like. The actual "circles" being actually a pit that becomes more narrow the further it reaches down to Treachery. -Limbo WIP. Don't have much developed about it yet other than it's probably where Pride demons originated from. -Lust Biome that consists of canyons and craters with hot springs scattered throughout, making the environment always warm and steamy, almost musky to an extent. On rare occasion, a sudden and violent gust of wind will blow and expel hot air from the layer and into the hell pit. -Gluttony The layer where the walls and surface they walk on are a pulsating and forever regenerating mass of flesh, bones and cartilage. Gluttony demons will often feed and consume off of it despite knowing they'll never satiate their constant hunger, almost serving as a reminder of their curse. -Greed A bustling and dense metropolis, its buildings and architecture built in a Deco Punk style, basically creating their own industrial revolution of sorts thanks to the Greed demons' efforts. It's where most of the commerce and technological advancements come from, their main achievements being the creation of cybernetic limbs and hell-forged artillery. -Wrath An endless sea with constant raging waves, the only pieces of land being deserted dead islands or an abandoned lighthouse. No demon knows what resides under the waves, and any attempts to investigate always met with immediate violence and hostility from the Wrath demons, resulting in death. -Heresy A vast and mostly barren desert where the sun never sets, scorching anything and everything within its vicinity. There are certain "blind spots" where the sun doesn't reach and has flowing waterfalls from the upper wrath layer, where most of the Envy demons took refuge and created small towns. -Violence What was once an ancient civilization of demons is now an abandoned wasteland, with nothing but ruins of stone buildings and large lakes of blood scattered throughout, the only life left residing there being the exiled Wrath and Gluttony demon hybrids left to restlessly wander for an eternity. -Fraud An abyss with gothic styled structures and buildings, all chain linked together to keep them from drifting apart in the endless void. Only the Sloth demons are able to reside in such place, as the curse of the abyss are completely immune to them. Those who are not resistant will be driven to complete madness, being succumbed into submission until they either perish or become lifeless husks who aimlessly wander in the abyss. -Treachery The final layer is the coldest, being an icy wasteland where the ground is completely frozen over and towering distant mountains with endless snowstorms, the ultimate punishment for unruly demons that are fated to be exiled. Though, rumors have it that there is one demon who against all odds, survived not only the fall down but also the harsh and cold environment, becoming one of the most deadly beasts that now wanders in the icy hellscape.
