I'd be willing to bet there is no design team. Just the hack architect who knocked out a cheap sketchup model and enscape rendering.

Probably no structural or civil engineers.

No Mechanical, electrical, or plumbing.

No geotech or security teams.

This will be a national boondoggle

I also live in Australia where jobs that aren't "aged care nurse" or "geotech" are non-existent.

To get a role in your industry you have to compete with an army of psychopaths. Who run firms into the ground constricting job availability further.

Guatemala has more job diversity than we do.

🌍 Las geotecnologías (SIG, teledetección, open data)
nos ayudan a ver los patrones invisibles:
— qué pueblos envejecen más rápido
— dónde faltan servicios
— cómo se puede reconstruir la red rural.
La ciencia también tiene corazón. ❤️

Las geotecnologías 🌍 —SIG, teledetección, ciencia ciudadana—
nos permiten ver lo invisible:
cómo cambia el territorio, qué zonas pierden servicios, dónde aún hay esperanza.
El futuro rural se puede mapear.

Dude we had to order some parts for some Pagani geotech equipment we use and we got hit with the tariff charge on the back end... absolutely brutal. This can't last.

The decision made my blood boil. The City focused the environmental on views because that was the only impact. The idea that the report should have covered geotech, noise, or bio resources (in Midway?!) more thoroughly than they did is ludicrous.

As a CEG (Geotech) in CA, there are not enough Eng Geologists in the profession for the amount of work out there. The big concern ATM is that the current Nat. policies are going to gut that work due to crashing the economy.

I would invite you to visit Morro Bay, Los Osos, and the rest of SLO County.

Nobody is building a major city there. The geotech issues alone...

And why didn't any of the journalists gathered note or query that much of Sam Vye's career has been spent in the geotech industry working for big oil, gas, and mining? He trained as a geophysicist. 🤔

The big delivery risks on this project were always the perennial geotech ones, particularly on the long headrace tunnel through highly variable, steeply-dipping ground (oops) ... and the hydro machines.

Will. They've been openly admitting inadequate geotech for a while now; it's the excuse for needing a fourth TBM. Might recall that we pointed out the headrace tunnel geotech challenges way way back.
