I finally found tinned fish that I like 😭😭😭 I’ve been trying to get over my hangup with it because it’s a great source of protein to have on standby for bad brain days. It’s the smoked rainbow trout from Fishwife.

Semi-related: statue and marker for the “Nairn Fishwife” in Nairn, Scotland. It was put up in tribute to the women who kept the home fires burning, and sold some fish, as the men were off catching herring in the North Sea. The industry peaked in the late 19th Century and was gone by the 1930s.

If not heard of that one but my Granny had so many of these. Don't cross knives on the table, don't put new shoes on the table, don't send Christmas or birthday cards with birds on. She also threw salt over her shoulder whenever she spilled any. She was the daughter of an Aberdeen fishwife.

I made this and it turned out so good. I used Fishwife tuna in spicy olive oil and added capers, fresh parsley and lemon juice. It was the quickest dinner ever too.
