Having recently replayed COD2 through BC for probably the first time since 360 launch I definitely agree. Was also surprised at just how short/small a lot of the missions were and how many have a “hold out for 5 mins” section. And what a massive graphics upgrade COD3 had compared to COD2.

My first 360 game I owned was CoD3. Haven't played CoD2 but 3 was pretty good. Really fun online multiplayer too.

My friend since 3rd grade and I used to make our own machinima with CoD3, Splinter Cell, Halo CE, 2 & 3. (Before YouTube)
Most of these I played on Xbox, so to record them I used a vhs recorder. Then used a cheap tuner card to record them digitally from the vhs tape 🤓

Call of Duty 3, as the first 'true', non-spinoff title for the PS2 era, blends the fantastic atmosphere of Finest Hour with the solid gunplay of Big Red One. It's certainly not perfect, but it's far and away the best Call of Duty of this era.

I know it's not everyone's favourite entry in the franchise, but my version of Call of Duty 3 included a soundtrack CD, which feels kind of funny to me now.

Call of Duty: Ghosts COMPLETED. What an absolute shitshow of a game. A complete downgrade from the series (sans COD3) in every way. Most of the guns felt the same, and the plot is puerile garbage. A couple of neat levels can't save a story that's worse than what you'd find at an airport bookstore

I know the pre-CoD 4 campaigns are not really talked about, but the 2 missions in CoD3 playing as Poland tankers in France was really neat. And to 6/7th grade me who was starting to get into history it was cool later reading about Polish (& Czechoslovak) units fighting alongside the Western Allies.
