Gonna steal someone's idea and do a thread for OSTs that I think are great but aren't quite in the spotlight, in part so it's easy for me to revisit them all. Starting with:

#1 Botanicula
Lots of unusual experimentation, genre mixes, and a cappella elements

The rikishi are taking-in the town and doing what we all do when in London.
Seeing the sights, admiring the parks, shopping on High Street, taking tea at Fortnum's, using the olde phonebox, eating Chinese, and having a terrific time.

I never really liked going to the village in the summers to help with crops and shit, but I do miss getting to see farm animals. Especially cows, some of the chillest animals out there.

People were dooming about Victor after aura changes but he's actually so busted right now it's insane. You need your whole team spending money on counters to offset the sheer healing and damage he does.

Matchmaking in Deadlock is giving me some absolutely miserable dogshit. Which is good cause I might finally drop the game again.

Went to Drifter after getting Billy to 57, and holy shit can they stop making feast or famine characters

Gentle reminder: I've been working full-time on VGDensetsu for years, and although I've chosen to make my site freely accessible to everyone, I'm currently unable to make a living from it. So if you would like me to continue my work, please feel free to support me if you can.

For the Shadow of the Colossus story, we interviewed 14 people including project leads Fumito Ueda and Kenji Kaido, hired Gravity Rush concept artist Takeshi Oga to illustrate the cover, and put together a 10,000-word story with help from @milkman.bsky.social @shmuplations.bsky.social and others.
Shadow of the Colossus: An oral history
Celebrate the 20th anniversary of Team Ico’s masterpiece by looking back with 11 people who worked on it (and three who didn’t).

This majestic beast lives with me

I am blessed
A white cat sitting in a very weird way: it’s left half is resting on the very rim of a TV stand. It’s tight half is flopping off, supported by it’s two outstretched right legs. It is making an extraordinarily weird face because it was caught mid-yawn. It’s like the world’s worst constipation face.

One of my favourite pieces of music in a game bursting with memorable, atmospheric compositions by Guido Henkel.

Third game in the first trilogy of adaptations in the 90s of Germany's Das Schwartze Auge (The Dark Eye) TTRPG and 'Adventuria' campaign setting.

I remember them buying them out and sorta killing In The Valley of Gods in the process, but I thought they just went on to be a part of a bigger team for Alyx. Was straight up just/mostly Campo people?

Ironically, Valve is probably terrified of ever making a game as "open" as imsims usually are.

I think the most scientific description is that it's any game ever where you can go through vents/shafts, break doors, climb boxes, and press buttons by throwing things at them.

Not Kurosawa but you should check out Harakiri if you haven't already. Really intense movie for how small the scale is.

Was playing old flash games, and this joke in particular aged extremely well

This game came out 20 years ago
Heihachi: "I just want to die! Namco just won't kill me off...I'm dug my own grave, with flowers and a vase and everything..."

Game is "The Legend of Zelda and the Lampshare of No Real Significane", released 2005

I think spoilers aren't just about "surprise." It's about being able to experience something for the first time as it happens, and not before you get to even open the game. Even if it's something incredibly trivial, there's value to not knowing the exact details in advance.

Billy winrate is not recovering, but I'm not sure how much of this is down to the character. I'm getting some of the downright worst matches I've ever had thanks to matchmaking. Several with really blatant cheaters as well.

Only just now realized this, but the higher fps you have in Deadlock, the less visible the soul orb outline becomes. Here's 60 vs 90 vs 144.

I prefer places that have more stuff in the skybox, but this shit has its own charm too.

Having a below 50% winrate Billy is enough to be a top 800 Billy player in EU. Also, I was just watching a stream from rank 3 Billy player to see if I can learn something, and this guy doesn't know how one of Billy's skill's works.
