Since I posted about buying Nintendo's upcoming Virtual Boy hardware yesterday, a good #throwbackthursday post would be when I manually soldered the ribbon cables into place when the glue started failing on my original unit!
It was delicate work, but came out great!

ROM hacks are a big rabbit hole I tend to avoid, but I fired up the latest build of Mario Kart Amped Up.
I'm a big fan of the polygonal racers and the porting of courses from different Mario Kart games!
But the rubber-banding was as bad as ever and the new courses didn't match Nintendo's quality...

I was playing the final version of Viewpoint 2064 on real N64 hardware (and CRT) last night!
Took me a bit to figure out how to get it to run on an EverDrive, but add
0x9E5331BE=1 (Viewpoint 2064 Master)
to the save_db.txt in /ED64 on your SD card
If you like Rez or Panzer Dragoon I recommend it

It's weird to me this game ever left the zeitgeist with how unique it's mechanic is - put in any CD and it will generate a monster for you!
How is that not awesome??
Also, as unholy as it feels, the CD doesn't have to be a music CD... 😉
