Whereas for me, after being introduced to Bowie as a pre-teen in the 70s by the ChangesOne hits collection, Ziggy was my starting point, and remains my favorite Bowie album--partly because of its impact on my life, but also because the songs are just outstanding, his most consistent set ever.

my mom had one Bowie best of record (ChangesOne) that she never listened to and let me know in no uncertain terms that Prince was "dirty" which only made "1999" sound even cooler when the video was in rotation (I'm old)
