It’s not just whilst learning - used to race catamarans and as crew, I was constantly bruised - once even had to go to A&E after being thrown off the trapeze in heavy gusts and waves, and slamming my crutch into the gunwale. Heavy bruising there is no fun 😬

This is the America's Cup catamaran "Stars and Stripes", skippered by Dennis Conner. My wife used to do the accounting for Dennis' business in San Diego, and he took us out for a ride after they defeated the Kiwis in 1988.
