Red is spicy
Yellow is sour
Blue is too tough to be eaten, he doesn’t mention a flavor
Purple is likely to be/be similar to extra virgin olive oil
And the White Bud spoils almost instantly.

Citric acid, like from a lemon, can corrode common metals used for frying pans like aluminum and iron

Yeah - once you cure Olimar you can do his Pikmin 1 retelling, which then unlocks the Sage Leaf dandori trial. Beating the 5th stage gets you a white onion and the 10th has the purple, so you don't have to rely on candypop buds in caves to get whites and purples for the last couple areas.
