Yea, im not really a fan of the roster. The graphics are really good but strange enough, I preferred the art direction of AOF2.
It kinda reminds me of World Heroes 2 vs World Heroes JET. Where again I preferred 2.

SNK is pushing Art of Fighting 3 and drawing in a few players. This is cool but weird.. I am somewhat motivated to replay it.
Also, I have always found AOF2 to be the better game. Im still salty Japan got an SNES port, and the West didn't. I still remember that EGM article talking about it. 🥲

I’m just being a hater on Eiji lmfao, I think he’s alright in AOF2 but in the KOF timeline he just gets bullied constantly past 95 and it’s harder to take him seriously, it got to a point where Kyo’s mom took him at blade point and then sat him down for tea

watching an AOF2 tournament and besides Robert's infinite (which might be banned?) the game really seems to devolve to brawling it out with buttons, because you run out of meter so fast
for AOF3 they changed it so you get meter for blocking

AoF2 is a fantastic game and one of the last bursts of big fighting game sprites before the KoF style took over. The crippling downside is that the game AI is the worst shit you will ever deal with. Brutally unfun at even the lowest difficulty.
Like seriously, Fatal Fury Special and SamSho2 are up there as being some of the best games on the platform. Being inexpensive is just a bonus.
KOF 98 is also great.
AOF2 maybe not so much but I personally enjoy the hell out of it.

so I don't have a rom dump of bust a move / puzzle bobble, but I have kizuna encounter, top hunter, and art of fighting 2; they share the same cart pcbs (TOP PRG, 256 CHA)

49) King loves Halloween - which can actually be backed up by some in-game stuff: AOF2 is the most obvious, since her stage is a Halloween carnival event at Dream, but, also, in both Illusion 95 and 96, there are jack o'lanterns in the background (with the 96 one inexcplicably being in a fish tank).
