I would like to take a second to point out how silly it is to say La Cosa Nostra in 2025. American fascination with the Mafia and Italian Mobsters is a thing of its own. I'm sure some Italian gangsters are involved, maybe even Sicilian, but tossing out La Cosa Nostra is purely for the show.

I know an American whose great-grandfather emigrated from Italy not long after unification and that family describes their ancestry sometimes as Italian and others as Sicilian. There's some pride there.

Early jazz star Leon Roppolo (Benny Goodman's idol) had a mental breakdown and was sent to the same institution as jazz progenitor Buddy Bolden. The place was segregated, but they could have played in its band together--both had horns inside. Hopefully Roppolo paid his respects and they got to jam.
