My TV remote paid the ultimate price after Carlos Beltran stared at strike 3 in Game 7 of the 2006 NLCS.

Also unleashed a very spicy rant at Claude Lemieux when he was finishing up in the AHL. And it wasn't due to his cheap shot on Kris Draper either. More the 86 Adams Division Finals.

I rolled a bowling bowl across a parking lot and into the woods. I drove home in my bowling shoes. I haven't picked a ball up since. Almost 24 years.

Positive: was watching the 2022 NLCS Game 5 when Beldam at the Bank happened. I squealed and then remained silent w/ the face Chevy Chase makes when he's getting the cash out of the ATM and in Vegas Vacation. I high fived everyone and then made my wife take my picture with the final score on the TV.

I just looked at the Mets’ 2024 NLCS roster and it’s kind of depressing how much of that roster is already gone.

10 players are left. 8 if you exclude Garrett/Megill. Tyrone Taylor is the only outfielder left.

For context, 11 Mets on the 2015 WS roster played for the team in 2018.

The poster child for fake hustle. His defining moment is the pointless headfirst slide into first on the last play of the 2007 NLCS.
Erstwhile #athletics OF Eric Byrnes turns 50 today, if any of YOU wanna wish him happy birthday or include him on YOUR list of top 100 A's players of all time. Too subtle?

Santiago Espinal to the Dodgers has "hits .320 thanks to a .400 BABIP in 250 PA, goes 7-for-11 in the NLCS" written all over it

Pete Rose batted .450 with a 1.126 OPS in the 1972 NLCS

He had 9 hits, 4 doubles, & 2 RBI in 5 games.

In a perfect world, Jorge Polanco will hit a three-run homer scoring Bichette and Simiem off Edwin Diaz in the ninth inning of game seven of the NLCS. Then Devin Williams will come in and close the door, sending the Mets to the World Series.

To be clear, I'm not arguing they shouldn't have made the trade. Just that it's reasonable that a potential gain in future years isn't worth potential difference in 26.. Could be sitting in NLCS again and ruing not having Peralta. Or we could get into a spot where he would have been irrelevant.

Happy 76th birthday to Rick Auerbach. Auerbach was drafted by the Seattle Pilots and played 3 seasons with the Brewers before being traded to the Dodgers in 1973. He played 166 games with LA over 3 years and appeared in the 1974 NLCS and WS. In all, he played 11 MLB seasons.

Clayton Kershaw, like the Dodgers team as a whole, took a step back in 2018, although they were both still good enough to accomplish similar goals. Kershaw

He's spent a billion dollars to win one NLCS game and he thinks he's Manny Machado.

My feelings on Castellanos

1. It was the absolute right move to sign him at the time.
2. If he was even close to his career averages here he’d still be here
3. As frustrating as he was, they don’t get to the WS or NLCS without him.
4. It was time for both sides to move on

All of this can be true

He was hitting behind OCTOBER 2022 BRYCE HARPER and came as close to tanking a team as any hitter can get in a World Series. 2023 NLCS somehow worse. It is a completely absurd perception that is entirely divorced from reality.
I'm losing it at the number of people who seem to only remember him hitting 2 homers in back-to-back games (which was fun!) and have literally no other memory of his other 36 Phillies playoff games

I was 17… and 17 year old Chuck was not happy. He had barely just gotten over 14 year old Chuck watching Sid Bream score the winning run in Game 7 of the 1992 NLCS.

They haven't gone from WS to NLCS to division round? It seems to me that they are going backwards. You say they have spent but they intentionally made a decision not to spend more due to tax reasons. They also are still holding onto Casty to try a save a couple million.

The Nats now have more players on the roster from their 2019 NLCS opponent than they do players from their own team.
