“This is a resurrection model; this is not a business model. The overarching principle has to be about new life and abundance — not always playing by the well-thought-out business rules, but by the gospel ethic of unconditional love and mutuality.” - Rev. Staci Marrese-Wheeler

And Smeagol was only there at the right time bc of the moments of mercy he was shown by Frodo and Sam in moments where there were real risks and costs to it. Resilience against temptation was good and fine but still itself dead but for the web of mutuality spun from acts of mercy and forgiveness

Affection, mutuality, and reciprocity can exist in a relationship in which religious convictions aren’t shared but a common ethic is. There is little possibility of any of that when a core tenant of a belief system is the conviction that someone who believes otherwise is damnable for it.

even if SNAP doesn't end, keep doing all that mutual aid, in fact increase it, make what you're doing into concrete places with others -- move beyond service aid to actual mutuality!!

"Imagine living in a world where there is no domination, where females & males are not alike or even always equal, but where a vision of mutuality is the ethos shaping our interaction. Imagine living in a world where we can all be who we are, a world of peace and possibility."

the other thing is that building such mechanisms enables mutuality to occur across borders and between people of different (or no) citizenship status, which is something we should want to work toward for any number of reasons

I gave up on the first relationship eventually. Which is the right decision. The scar, unfortunately, exists. Fortunately it doesn’t itch very much.
So no. No obligations. All mutuality. I take care of people when I can and expect the same.

Right, resilience is not proof and the web of mutuality engendered by an act of mercy is far more critical in that moment than any fortitude born from individual personal purity.

Compassion is, by definition, relational. Compassion literally means “to suffer with,” which implies a basic mutuality in the experience of suffering. The emotion of compassion springs from the recognition that the human experience is imperfect.

Dems MUST change comms. U always yield points/allow mutuality or diff possibilities to look 'reasonable' but yr arguments die thru dilution Cf Repubs= always attack, defend indefensible & never concede. Appearance is conviction vrs weakness. @housedemocrats.bsky.social @senatedemocrats.bsky.social

Oh dear, what you call MUTUALITY is a right wing idea: you only get out what you put in.
Atlee/Bevan said you pay taxes progressively and you receive according to need. No "mutuality". No "contributory" aspect. (How do children, unemployed/homeless people contribute?) Admit that you are wrong

Oh dear you are really using insulting language to argue semantics? That's how socialism fails. What a shame. Take the important point about MUTUALITY & about how the right wing want to dismantle that connection so they can say "There's no money". Mutuality works that's why Neolibs don't like it.

So MUTUAL. We paid in according to our abilities and got out according to our needs. Fully funded and with no profit involvement or incentive. I can understand why you want FACTS but the left tears itself apart over semantics. The principle was mutuality. It's the only answer to undo this sh1t.
