My "Friendly Neighborhood Abolitionist" is, like most things about me, a very intentional choice!
My default is to look at ppl like they’re a friend (unless they’re being creepy or cruel obviously).
I think it’s nice to show someone you give a shit about them, even for only a moment. No one needs to be my bff or anything. Kindness isn’t transactional.

Charming, eco-wise, friendship enhancing idea.
This Xmas I have asked for books from my friends.

Books they have read & loved and need to live with me for a few months.?

As I read each one I will bake a cake - we will talk about the book and it will go home to its original keeper.

I get to read, I get to know my friends better - and CAKE!!

Cellist Yo-Yo Ma and a small choir perform Earth Hymn, filmed live in the shadow of Iceland's Snæfellsnes glacier. Lyrics are drawn from ancient Icelandic poetry, outlining a plea to the world from the edge of a changing planet, adapted from the poem ’Völuspá’ (’The Prophecy of the Seeress’).

From out there on the Moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch.’

Americans have been dragged, tackled, beaten, tased and shot by immigration agents.

They’ve had their necks kneeled on.

They’ve been held outside in the rain while in their underwear.

At least three citizens were pregnant when agents detained them.
More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. They’ve Been Kicked, Dragged and Detained for Days.
The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And near...

Since 2017 I've had the good fortune to serve as editor of Braided Way Magazine. It's a joy to publish the work of so many gifted writers. It’s also excruciating to highlight only a few in our nominations, but here are our Pushcart Prize choices.

"Even a wounded world is feeding us. Even a wounded world holds us, giving us moments of wonder and joy. I choose joy over despair. Not because I have my head in the sand, but because joy is what the Earth gives me daily and I must return the gift."

over 15 billion miles from Earth, it's controlled using 50-year-old blueprints and takes 22 hours to receive a single command
