Ok I'm going to repost and pin this. If you THINK you're interested in Politics and understand Neo-liberal economics but have never seen how clearly Gary breaks it down, maybe you really don't know how there can be both 'not enough money' and plenty at the same time. It's up to us all to KNOW.
If you don't do something about the billionaire class...You have no choice but to shut the welfare state down that our grandparents and great grandparents fought for.

🤗It's really damn difficult as a creative to make a living. Somehow my husband and I get by but we've lived most of the last 10 years on less than one Min wage between 2 of us. Luckily we have our home. Sometimes I don't know how people live. I try to help #TheFrugalistBook #YourCreativeBusinessBook
If you’re a working artist talking to other creatives I’m begging you to not hide this. I have a parter who makes more and I don’t hide that and try to be as open as I can especially one on one. It’s cruel to not be honest with your fellow artist and give them any kind of false hope or fear
Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.
I'm thinking of writing my second The Frugalist book. A great topic which I'll include, but don't mind sharing because people don't read only one book, is a list of things you should do (Preparations) when you are expecting low input in your solar system to avoid having to shut down completely.
Do the British Government want us expat oldies back? Most of us are a bargain living abroad, as many don't have 38 grand earnings but don't claim extra which we would need in the UK, don't use the NHS or housing stock. What if Europe reciprocated? Fortunately(currently🤞) Spain 'aint that daft!❤️🇪🇸🥰💃
The Observer shines a light on Badenoch's policy to deport anyone with Indefinite Leave to Remain whose earnings fall below £38,700 or who have ever claimed a state benefit - including a pension or maternity allowance.

Anyone advocating mass deportation should be cast into the political wilderness.
Absolutely! The Reason why they are "out of reach for the working taxpayer" Is because the working taxpayer isn't getting paid enough. For employers/investors one billion isn't enough! Companies like Asda, Amazon et al make the 'tax payer' pay for their own top-ups to subsidise *their* low wages.🤬
2/2 Now I realise that the only difference between the goods advertised & sold in shops or on Amazon & the Temu/Ali direct ones is the added profit the already rich are making & an extra weeks wait. So F.I. This #Frugalist Is buying direct until Europe rebuilds its industry, or taxes Billionaires.
#Frugal 1/2 Sod the Billionaires. I used to baulk at buying Chinese goods through Temu and Ali express because the far east copy and stole all my designs AND because its much greener and more equitable to buy European made goods (continues)
Musicians seem to be teaching by their actions. Check out recent news on Billy Eilish, Dua Lipa, & Cat Stevens! I'm not normally overly impressed by so called 'philanthropy' by those who use it for their own ends but I'm mightily impressed by these musicians (in kid speak)'OWNING' the Billionaires!👏
Another pretend left-wing Gaslighting Troll-Bot? Maybe just doesn't get the art of discussion. Check him out and see what you think.
Tell you what UK. You don't want other countries to follow suit. Imagine all the wrinkly old expats like myself turn up back there having been deported from their new countries. Now we WOULD be a burden on the state! Keep your young health/fast food/transport workers. You really did get a good deal!
NEW: Labour condemn Tory plan to strip people of indefinite leave to remain:

“It’s utterly grotesque that Tories want to deport people with the lawful right to be here to achieve ‘cultural coherence’.

“This policy would mean tearing families apart and ripping out our neighbours from communities."

Oh there you go... The insults again. "of course you don't". Of course I do. Are you really who you claim to be or are you another of those deliberate infiltrating Gaslighters. I met a few like that on FB 10 yrs ago on the question of 1950s women's pensions. I called them out then. Lot of it about.
Oh dear you are really using insulting language to argue semantics? That's how socialism fails. What a shame. Take the important point about MUTUALITY & about how the right wing want to dismantle that connection so they can say "There's no money". Mutuality works that's why Neolibs don't like it.
So MUTUAL. We paid in according to our abilities and got out according to our needs. Fully funded and with no profit involvement or incentive. I can understand why you want FACTS but the left tears itself apart over semantics. The principle was mutuality. It's the only answer to undo this sh1t.
Dang! Paypal is not very pally on this and charges an extra 2 euros on 5 dollars. Greedy Barstewards. THIS is why there are billionaires and people who literally can't afford to eat and feed their families.
A call to other self-employed creatives in UK/Europe. If you know someone in the USA who is on food stamps and you can send them the cost of a dozen eggs. Think about doing so. If each of us did that for just *one* of our social media friends, unprompted, they would feel the empathy at least!
He IS a Tory. They are all Tories at the top of Labour now. They had a chance. Sadly people believed they would come around once they got elected. I knew they wouldn't and for the first time in my life w heavy heart I didn't vote! I simply couldn't. I needed to add my voice to 'none of the above'.
👏 'labour' certainly has lost the right to call themselves anything like left wing. A coalition of the left should not include vested-interest funded parties. That's not to say there aren't good people still hanging on in there. But if they don't speak up for the poorer classes they are complicit.

You are wrong it actually WAS intended for that purpose in the UK. That's why it's called NATIONAL INSURANCE The clue is in the name. What else was its purpose do you think? The fact that subsequent governments broke that link doesn't make that not so.
I have known ethical non greedy landlords (as well as the other sort). There's a difference between them and slum landlords. Some actively want to fill in the gap left by Thatcher.
And Gary-Gary's economics is a multimillionaire. I have nothing against rich people (apart from Billionaires. You don't get to be a billionaire without being a parasite) as long as they are actively calling for taxing the rich more and reinstating NI/NHS(mutuality) Public ownership of basic needs.
My life has proved you can feed yourself, family & your creative soul. No it's not easy. You won't be rich. But how easy is the soulless 9-5 if you don't like your job. Can everyone do a job they pretty much enjoy? YES as long as we have time and space to find out what that is. A few ideas for you👉
Aww! Thank you Simon! There certainly is a sequel possibility. I've learned so many more tricks and hacks since then. Like you...so many books, so little time though! Just about to give a little push to my YCB book which doesn't look related but really is. Feed yourself. Feed your creative soul!
The Frugalist is a great book! Is there potential for a sequel rather than an updated version... The Frugalist II? 😊
