This is a very tough call, but I want to say it was the SNES version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time. I can safely say I didn’t beat anything in the NES era (I was pretty young!) so I’m pretty sure I beat this before anything else.

Clearly the only thing that will quell your burning rage is full English releases of complete lore breakdowns for all stories thus far and to come. Konami's hands are tied, it's the only viable solution.

Oh wow! Yeah, the game has definitely expanded since the early days. I actually got lucky to hitch my wagon to Branded, one of the evergreen decks back in 2022 after a long time away from the game and Konami's been really goood about supporting it ever since

![Parodius Non-Sense Fantasy (aka Parodius Da! ~Shinwa kara Owarai e~ [パロディウスだ! －神話からお笑いへ－]) released for the Super Nintendo in Europe in 1992 by Konami. Originally released in Japan in 1990.
I was lucky to get this game with my SNES in Germany as a kid. It was my introduction to Konami shooters, and I couldn't have started with a better one. It only released in Japan and Europe, making it one of the few PAL exclusive Western releases)
A silly horizontal shooter (shoot 'em up / shmup) featuring lots and lots of penguins and wacky covers of classical music. It's a parody of Konami's own Gradius / Nemesis series of shooters, featuring the same gameplay and power up style.

It's a multiple 8-Bit anniversary! 42 years ago, Tennis for Famicom was released, 39 years ago it was The Adventure of Link for Famicom Disk System (German NES-version pictured here) and then 38 years ago, it was Konami's Wai Wai World. All of those are pretty cool!
