A quotation from **Christopher Bidmead**

> THE DOCTOR: Oh, marvelous. You’re going to kill me. What a finely-tuned response to the situation.

A good examination of Frontios the novel. Two delightful voices whet the appetite for the tale in print. The author was able to make changes free from budget and time slot constraints and that gets a look in here.👍🏿
It’s all very engaging and illuminating.👏🏿

A thought - given that the bloody thing's never been changed back or repealed, can we expect the Season 21 set to feature an edit of Frontios featuring The Mavis?*

*Obviously not, that would be silly, but this is what preoccupies me on a cold Friday

that new #doctorwho collection blu-ray announcement got me so hype, i had to make a quick little ink painting of the gravis. pumped to do a podcast about "frontios" if anyone's got one going

Davison’s whole era is peak comfort Who for me, its good and its bad, but I really go to bat for this season. It’s ugly and cruel and falls apart in your hands, but I genuinely think there’s so much more nuance (and certainly genuine political anger) in what it’s doing than often given credit.

This is the main thing I’m hoping for too, Frontios is one of my all-time favorites and I’d love to see it done like Ghost Light with all the bits back in no matter the definition!

There’s a beautiful image at the end of the #DoctorWho Season 21 Collection trailer, Frontios based. I don’t suppose any Who pals know if it’s online anywhere?

The only thing I was hoping for on the s21 set and hasn't so far been mentioned is an extended edit* of Frontios...
But I'm hugely looking forward to this!

*yes, I know the deleted scenes are timecoded VHS. But there's examples of that sort of material being used e.g. the Ghost Light "work print"

Season 21 of Doctor Who is one of mixed feelings for me. Frontios is a fantastic story but at the same time I'm irritated that Peter Davison didn't get to play the Doctor like that all through his run. He's great the whole season but Frontios feels like he's finally been allowed to find his Doctor.

Have they fixed the white sky in Frontios? That's probably the only thing that needs fixing.

Design-wise, if you're wondering why there's no TARDIS on the inner flap this time, you are clearly one of the few people yet to witness the majesty of Frontios. ENJOY!
