Visit your public library and obtain a library card to access Freegal Music. It's essentially Spotify without a subscription or ads, allowing you to listen to and download music for free. Please note that you're limited to 6 downloads per week. I am saying this as someone who works at one lol.

They also have DVDs and digital services like Kanopy for streaming, Libby for Audiobooks, and Freegal for music. Support you public library!
As you cancel streaming services, here is a casual reminder that only 16% of Americans read for pleasure anymore, and your local library has hundreds or thousands of books you haven't read.

Did not know about Freegal music or Comics Plus, thank you. 🙏🏽 I’m struggling with the volume right now. Not the most tech savvy person, but I got the Kanopy app added to my 2019 Samsung TV 15 mins ago. It’s buffering & pixelating & volume is intermittent. Reading & trying to figure out the issue.

If you’re in California there’s a good chance your library has Hoopla(free streaming) and/or Freegal(free streaming and mp3 downloads). Both have some Jill Sobule.

Unfortunately last fm can't pick up the app for my scrobs..........I do half of them on mobile since I'm in hiding from spot on the phone so I figured fm would be able to pick up the notif like it usually does but I guess not for freegal.......

Get your library card and support your local libraries. They offer more than books. Not just OC, public libraries are across the country. Wonderful additions like Freegal, Kanopy, Hoopla, etc.

Us, placing 100+ holds on Libby, getting 5 free music downloads on Freegal, streaming a British murder mystery TV series on Kanopy, checking out audiobooks on Hoopla, starting a new craft on Creativebug, and then swinging by our favorite MADL branch to get a couple of videogames to tide us over:

I'll add that at least some libraries have a free music streaming platform called Freegal that you can get access to, as well.
Just a brief reminder if you have a library card you can access Hoopla and Kanopy where you can access tons of free movies and tv shows. They usually get rid of some monthly to add new ones.
Streamers were the first thing to go since being unemployed. Check and see what services your library has!

Our Libby also gives me access to Kanopy (for films) and Freegal (for music). I didn’t know until I went to my county libraries website.
