A quick trip to Emsworthy Mire this afternoon, 6 Ring Ouzel and 1 Fieldfare, it's quite unbelievable how fast they are stripping the berries off the tree's.

Out along the valley this afternoon. Gloomily quiet for the most part, but the winter marsh is water-logging nicely and I duly found my first Jack Snipes (2) of the season together with 13 Common. Elsewhere c120 Fieldfare and 50 Redwing were gathered in field boundary treetops. 🪶

2. Fair Isle Day-6. The Olive-backed Pipit we found earlier in the week was still around Utra. Blackcap, Woodcock, Goldcrest, Redwing, Fieldfare, Blackbird and Brambling was the best we could manage given the time we devoted to the pipit #UKBirding

I reported seeing a flock of Fieldfare this morning whilst out early to my wife, now, whilst I’m working she has gone out to find them to take a look…how unfair is that #thegardenjungle

Berries, watch out – hungry birds are about! 😋
A sure sign of #NatureInFlux, redwings and fieldfares arrive in the UK to feast on the berry bounty of #Autumn
Listen out for the redwing 'tsee' call, which differs greatly from the harsher 'chack-chack' of the fieldfare 🎶
