If anyone's curious, the characters I had in mind were Batman, Trickster, Etrigan, and Tala (Queen of Evil), and the maguffin was related to Neron.
My favorite era of the Flash, really. I also miss Waid's con man version of the Trickster. I always wanted to do or see an Elmore Leonard-esque mini with him and a few other luminaries (Etrigan, for instance) on a collision course as they individually chase after a maguffin.
