The world may be falling into chaos and disrepair, but at least we have apples for me to review.

New apple review at the blog -- WILD TWIST.
Apple Review #41: Wild Twist
BEHOLD: A WILD (twist) APPLE APPEARS. But first: a brief digression about agricultural-industrial apple storage! Did you know that the reason we get apples (and ostensibly a lot of other fruits and…

watching the crockett talarico allred feud in the broader context of our nation’s disrepair is a painful portrait. you zoom out and it’s like the “it’s fine” meme

David Lynch says in his short monologue, 'Beauty', that there's beauty in decaying buildings and we say, yes, let the "heritage" palaces crumble from disrepair and dilapidation. Hear it in the latest version of A Duck in a Tree, now available as a podcast: bit.ly/4qUQGO5

The Tigard Plaza sign at the edge of the parking lot at the aforementioned strip mall is a real survivor and endangered species.
When in Tigard Oregon I highly recommend dropping by!

Probably the most foolish fossil fuel subsidy.

"The aging facilities that were scheduled for retirement are in disrepair and require expensive investments to keep operating safely [...] Ratepayers nationally will take on as much as $6 billion in higher costs by 2028 if this pattern continues."
Opinion | Trump’s pro-coal directives could raise energy prices by billions
Requiring aging plants to operate after their scheduled closures hurts consumers, who pay the price.

Interesting to hear about the roads disrepair. In Nottingham, which is a Reform council, the roads are almost impossible to use across the city. Meanwhile, hundreds of union jacks were professionally put up across the city. Flags that cost 75k and no one wanted

I see a lot of old houses in rural Georgia, in varying states of repair and disrepair. I couldn't help but notice the seriously rusty propane tank next to this house!

People get stressed about entropy and the tendency of all ordered systems to devolve into disorder, but it ain't all chaos and woe — yes, hopes and dreams may slide away into disrepair, but if you're lucky and you keep your eye peeled you might catch some lovely little moments along the way.

Thank you. A house in serious disrepair, then fixed as $ and time allow can then be rented to someone who wants to rent. Maybe one day I'll sell to someone who wants to buy. Meantime there's a bit of income after mortgage, utilities, taxes that tenant covers in my REASONABLE rent & THEY are HAPPY.

Because he's lying about it being in disrepair. Because he didn't see coming the number of artists/entertainers bailing once he put his name on the building.

On a walk earlier today, my parents & I passed by an old shieling which has collapsed this winter due to long-term neglect & disrepair. This made it possible to read some inscriptions on the gable, which farmhands have carved into the walls. My maternal grandfather left two carvings on other logs.

Found the secateur spring! Have cleaned , repaired and sharpened said secateurs ( so the boyfriend will not have to buy any) . Pairs of secateurs in various states of disrepair in the flat down to one. Have definitively earned a shower and some tea! 🤘

A lot of old rail lines are unsurfaced and unlit, making them useless and dangerous for a good chunk of the year.
Certainly in NE England a lot of larger rural roads have footways alongside. these are mostly in a lot of disrepair. A programme to bring them up to scratch for multi use would be fab.
