It's nice to have an inside joke with your partner that only you two get and is impossible to explain what it is and why it reduces the both of you to doubled over ugly laughing whenever one of us sees E.T. and we go "OUCH" but in a quick gruff voice and hold up the "wrong" middle finger.

As much as I would like to try to introduce facts to that crowd, I don't think it would make much of an impact. I think other people have taken up the cause, though: The creator of the site recently said the traffic has been pretty steady/spiking at times when Dear Leader tells more fibs about us.
