You cannot feel empowered or secure enough to effectively jobseek on UC Basic Rate of £424pcm, especially when ill/disabled & under duress of sanctions

But that's what the Labour Government are proposing for 80%* of claimants who will no longer qualify for UC Health Element (LCWRA/ESA)

On 1st July, MPs will vote on the pip and universal credit bill - a bill that threatens to make life even harder for disabled people.

We’re calling on everyone to email your mp and tell them to:

• say no to concessions
• vote no to the pip & uc bill
• back the amendment.

MPs are still having to table amendments to the toxic DWP Welfare Bill

The idea that the DWP will still reassess someone with Parkinson’s or MS - and then potentially cut the Health Element of Universal Credit - is both medically incoherent and morally reprehensible

Disabled people on Universal Credit already struggle to pay rent, heating and food bills.

A two-tier system is not good enough on PIP - equally, it is not good enough on Universal Credit.

The Government's incoherent and dangerous cuts MUST be dropped.

The welfare reform bill must be the stopped. The "concessions" aren't
concessions, but an attempt to save face by the government. Kill the bill!

DWP just gave a company £15m contract to spy on benefit claimants

The deal with Deloitte (involved in the disastrous Covid Test & Trace programme) sums up what's wrong with our welfare state: assuming guilt over need & thinking technology can solve systemic poverty
