i feel like a huge part of the appeal of horizon zero dawn was the artstation art direction of extremely complex and detailed robots so when that multiplayer spin off tries to "stylize" it and simplify things it ends up somehow less distinct than the original games its such a weird thing to look at

I visited ArtStation for the first time in about five years, and I was surprised to see that even artworks that look like 2D illustrations are now often created using 3D models. I guess it’s a natural trend since many creators there work in games and film.

This morning I found out that the "Warriors of the Air" poster at the very end of #CrimsonSkies for PC has a much larger version uploaded by Mark Forrer (Dev Team Artist) on his Artstation.

I thing I'm noticing during my current artist search is a ton, TON, of people on ArtStation whose portfolios make no sense. Like, there'll be a piece with excellent anatomy, great style, and really good line work right next to a piece that's clearly amateur. Super suspicious. Feels fake.

I hate that platforms for sharing my art require you to actually engage with other content and shit to get you visibility. I would love it if we simply had platforms that we can engage with in the same way we do Artstation: I and other artists post art, people who look at art go and engage with it.
