About 15% of California households lack access to high-speed internet, according to the latest report from UC Riverside. Read on … for more on the report’s findings. What does the report say? The biggest barrier to connectivity is affordability. The average monthly cost can range from $70 to $80 per month. Rural communities are even further isolated because of a lack of infrastructure investments from private companies. Full Story About 15% of California households lack access to high-speed internet, according to the latest report from UC Riverside. Researchers pointed to affordability as one of the biggest barriers to closing the persistent digital divide. Edward Helderop, associate director at UCR’s Center for Geospatial Sciences and report author, told LAist that the findings weren't surprising. “A lot of American households and California households don't have high-speed internet available at home,” Helderop said. “It's sort of just an unfortunate reality that that's the case for the state of California.” What does the report say? Nearly one in seven households in California doesn’t have reliable internet access, according to the report. The biggest barrier continues to be affordability. Even in urban areas, like Los Angeles, where broadband internet is more widely available, the average...

En säker signal om att jag blivit kidnappad är om jag skulle skriva att antifascism inte är en höger/vänster-fråga

My American friends in antifascism. This is how the troops actually feel. How can you not see that this is a huge opportunity for you?
Don’t worry. As a spouse of a (thank god) recent retired military member, you are aware of your lack of value all the time. No one needs to remind them. My husband and I developed a very large slate of bitter jokes about this over the years. I can only imagine how much worse this is now.

2) capitalism, anti-Christianity, antifascism, and radical gender ideologies, as well as those with “hostility toward those who hold traditional American views.”

I'm supposed to believe that you, person out here loudly defaming antifascists, is in fact antifascist?

I'm to believe the way you do antifascism is by tearing down other antifascists?

You do you. Meanwhile I'm finding a coalition.

Antifa (antifascism)
- is an ideology
- isn't an organization
- is only a problem for fascists

Examples:
- Democracy can't be a terrorist org
- Christianity can't be a terrorist org
- Astronomy can't be a terrorist org

Ideas aren't organizations & only fascists would find Antifa a threatening idea

People on reddit talking about "what's the Alabama bird of resistance?" I can think of one great symbol for antifascism that features a yellowhammer.

I’ve very rarely seen anything from GW which is about radical resistance to the imperium however.

Why aren’t we getting novels about people with actual morals trying (& failing miserably) to resist the yoke of the imperium. If GW is so keen on antifascism why r these stories throwaway sentences.

“Above all, Croce was impatient with those who pitted fascism against antifascism as if they were soccer teams…” I would have followed Benedetto Croce on bsky. Source: virginiaheffernan.substack.com/p/fascism-is...

Great conversation with @shaneburley.bsky.social and @mskellymhayes.bsky.social.

"[M]ass antifascism, is about building a tactic of interference with as many people as possible, whether it is to block fascist attacks or deplatform fascist rallies or stop the advancement of their organizing."
I talked with my friend @shaneburley.bsky.social about Nick Fuentes' recent rant about putting women in gulags. How seriously should we take Fuentes, culturally and politically? And what does rhetoric like this reveal about the broader trajectory of the movement he’s trying to shape? We get into it.
Nick Fuentes Wants Women in “Gulags.” Here’s Why That Matters.
"Gender has always been an important throughline of fascist politics," says Shane Burley.

antifascism has great potential to give you Liberal Socialism but you must first decide to believe that both liberals and socialists are all sincerely antifascist.
these people seemingly cannot comprehend any political claim except as some kind of stratagem against the left. the idea that "Trump is a fascist who will kill us all" is something we sincerely mean, rather than a tactic to bully them into accepting a dreaded moderate, is incomprehensible

When preventative antifascism fails, corrective antifascism (i. e., resistance, whether active, passive, or both) becomes necessary.
After death threats for his work on antifascism, a Rutgers University professor fled the United States.

“It’s too late for preventative antifascism,” he said. “I think we’re in a new era.”
He studies fascism. Is he now living through it?
