Every 3 months, I make estimated tax payments so I don't get swamped/penalized when I file my yearly return. And every time, I am filled with rage. I used to be fine w/ paying taxes, but they've cut all the stuff worth supporting and now I pay for Trump's golf trips and Stephen Miller's gestapo

Recurring payments is a complex set of features with development and user experience questions mingled together. This is something that I have a lot of experience with, so I've written a small series to go along with the engineering plan.
We're kicking off a "Building In Public" series on the design of the recurring payments feature. The first of this four part series gives some context about what we're trying to do and why it matters. #BuildingInPublic #ATProtocol

Update:

-I got Venmo to work!

-Then the checks arrived in the mail.

-Recipient duly trashed the checks, bc Venmo payments had been withdrawn from my account.

-Venmo locked his account for "suspicious activity" (new account getting paid too much I guess)

-Now he & I both don't have the money
Today's Journey in Enshittification: I'm trying to pay a guy and NOTHING is working?

Sent the check through the mail: It didn't arrive.

Venmo: It worked! Once! Refuses a repeat performance with "technical error, try again later."

I make even close friends submit commissions through my Form. I take money through stripe invoices, and no other methods. I do not accept gift cards, paypal payments, venmo, zelle, etc. I usually do not send an invoice until I have a rough sketch ready.
