Warham Camp Fort is located between the villages of Warham and Wighton. It is a large and well-preserved Iron Age fort where previous excavations in 1914 & 1959 produced evidence for timber palisade and Iron Age and Roman pottery.

Better write up than is usual, with more detail about the Treasure Act, although not including 'significance'...

... but this sentence made me shudder:

"The pair then spent six-and-a-half hours excavating the coins."

The #AbuSimbelFestival is today, during which the sun reaches the inner sanctums of the Ancient Egyptian Abu Simbel temples, lighting up statues of Ramses II and the gods.

Wow, a small Roman glass bottle with preserved ointment from almost 2,000 years ago! 🤩

The ointment is composed of fatty acids, glycerine, and plant fibres (wood, pollen, and seeds). Perhaps a valuable cosmetic or medicinal cream.
