Apocalypse Hotel (anime of the year, IMO) had not just one of the best endings to a series I've seen, but also the best ending it could possibly have. Everything that needed to be wrapped up, was, and for a comedy to have its final scene conclude with the best joke in the series is a masterstroke.
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:
