To wit: 4Kids dubs are literally what helped bring the medium to a broader American market, when the mainstream adult world wasn’t (and STILL ISN’T) willing to treat anime as anything other than toddler fodder.

Community care in action 🥰 Someone on my street placed a tiny shed in their yard by the street to serve as a neighborhood food bank! The last few times I've gotten groceries I've picked up some things to leave inside, and when I come back a few days later they've been taken, which feels SO good.

The hopeful part of me says that people will start to finally recover. The realist (and the ex-Mormon tbh) in me knows that people who lose a habit or a piece of their personality like that often feel like they have to replace it. People can recover. But they can also get worse. I've seen both.
We've already seen AI driving people to psychosis, but man, what happens to these people if/when the bubble pops. Not just to the economy but also, just, to these people's brains, what happens If AI stops being available or just stops being cheap/free to use

Is there a block list here for "voice actors" who do nothing with their voices and push AI as a "time saver" so you don't have to, I dunno, voice act? I've seen so many in the #voiceactor hashtag. I want nothing to do with them, and I want none of them to find me. Let the slop rot in obscurity.

The problem with trying to get accents down is you think you've got it, you think you're doing pretty good, and then you hear something devastating, like that the British also rhyme the words "massage" and "garage" but in a drastically, jarringly different way than your American ass. And then what?
