Community care in action 🥰 Someone on my street placed a tiny shed in their yard by the street to serve as a neighborhood food bank! The last few times I've gotten groceries I've picked up some things to leave inside, and when I come back a few days later they've been taken, which feels SO good.

I don't know what I thought, exactly, I was a little kid. Maybe I thought cartoon characters were really real somewhere, maybe I thought there was a special computer program that could bring them to life. But as soon as I realized voices were PEOPLE? That was it for me. I wanted to do that.

The first time I remember realizing #voiceacting was a real thing was playing Putt Putt Saves The Zoo as a kid. The end credits showed pictures of the kids who played the animals, and when you clicked on them you'd get a voice clip. Real kids, my age, in front of real microphones! Real voices! Wow!

Been plagued with sticky-clicky recordings in the #voiceactor booth lately, mouth noises drive me batty, so it was suggested I eat a green apple before recording to help. Today, these little guys came home with me. These sour suckers had better fix all my problems, no pressure!

Community care looks like a lot of things. My roommate's dad works in ice cream delivery. When he noticed people would just throw out the "defective" cartons, he asked if he could take them home instead. Now his entire neighborhood has free ice cream whenever they come over. This one's from him. 🥰

Some guy leaned out his car window and shouted "FUCKING SHEEP" at me as I was leaving the grocery store. Maybe he was scared of the mask I wear out shopping. But I'm choosing to believe it's on account of how cute and fluffy I am 😇🐑

The last step of my daily vocal warm-up is to read out a piece of text for practice. The video uses Shakespeare quotes, but I don't always have those on hand, so I find a random Wikipedia article and read aloud clearly for a minute or so. I guess this counts as a #VoiceActor tip? It's fun!

Take 2 on trying for a covid vaccine: victory! 💖 Apparently last time the FDA had just tried to rescind approval of the vaccine that was already out, so it was sitting around while no one was allowed to administer it? Just last week it was re-approved, that's what I was told. Keep fighting fascism!
