Yep. This is the entire reason the right fights so hard to censor the internet. The fact that australia is managing to be worse about this than America is under Trump should be utterly humiliating to them.
Of course this is part of the point. A significant "harm" of social media is that parents lose control over what their children become, hence queer "groomers".

I don’t think I'm going to stay in the US long term. With the voting rights act gone, I'll be dead by the time America has real freedom of speech again. I love and admire everyone with the strength to stay and fight, but I am not strong enough to endure the ceaseless barrage of bad news forever.

I cannot fathom seeing liberalism completely and utterly fail in the most spectacular, dangerous, and permanent way possible and coming away thinking "we need to do liberalism HARDER!"

This sentiment is rooted in anti-intellectualism. We are not helpless to discern which practitioners are following the religion's precepts and which ones aren't. We have the holy books and other sources of doctrine for various religions and can observe whose behavior matches them.
Religious movements are *always* internally contested. It is not for historians/outsiders to decide which party to the contestation represents the “true“ version or deserves exclusive use of the movement’s name/label. Their job is rather to describe the internal diversity as accurately as possible.
