1000xResist and this moment continues to live rent free in my mind. Especially in the *gestures broadly* current state of the US as everything feels hopeless and like nothing can be done. But it isn't and this moment so perfectly gets at why.

Keep posting Tim. You're doing great. I mean if you wanted to make an argument for Twitter continuing to exist you could at least suggest Grok be shut down due to the whole "distributing disgusting content" thing. Interesting that you haven't and just made excuses for that too.

Most of us did not choose to write or draw or design so that we could put products on the shelf. We chose to do it because it’s a set of skills we enjoy exercising, that give us fulfillment.

It’s like asking a pro pitcher to just let a machine pitch for them. Fuck off and give me the ball.

Look man I don’t think the people being poisoned by data centers really care if you remove the generated assets before shipping, and I don’t really care if you “only” use the machine that stole my shit and convinced teens to off themselves for internal PowerPoints.

Cool motive. Still bullshit tho.

the larian stuff sucks to hear a lot. you have to be a true all-timer loser to think generative AI is useful for concepting ideas or artwork. you let the machine do the fun part you dumbass. it doesnt tell me you think efficiently it tells me youre a fuckass who's given up on being interesting

I want to re-emphasize, the guy who has made HUNDREDS of videos calling people in the industry slurs, calling for them to be fired, calling all the studios that are showing games "woke and gay" and has harassed multiple journalists covering the show over the years is at the Game Awards.
LOL hey everyone in the industry who is at the Game Awards, the guy who has made countless videos harassing you is there!

Just go to 2025.gamesrecap.io tomorrow or one of the many other places that will compile every trailer. Save yourself some time and you get to not support that loser.
Tonight is the VGA but you can do something more productive than watch it: read a book, bake a cake, purchase and play an indie game, etc.
Don't give more views to this circus of a show!

Glad to see Polygon cover the resistance of game developers to generative AI--and to be able to speak briefly to one of the greatest dangers of this entire thing.

Gen AI doubles down on making MORE SPACE for production issues that *already make games worse.*

If I was unsure how I felt about Arc Raiders use of AI (I wasn't), knowing Tim Sweeney was defending it would be enough to let me know I should appose it
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney has defended AI following Eurogamer's 2/5 Arc Raiders review, which criticised the game's use use of AI voice generation. "AI dialog generation + human personality and tuning could totally transform gaming," Sweeney said.
