In the UK soldiers lifted people of the street and raided houses, busting the door and dragging kids from their beds. I know this because I was one of those children held shaking with cold and barefoot at gun point while other armed men emptied the contents of my mother’s hot press onto the floor.
One more, I am begging English commentators and journalists to remember what the UK did in Northern Ireland.

Of course what's occurring in the US could happen in the UK! It already fecking did.

So, if I’ve got this clear, it’s like Danegeld, except instead of the English paying it to the Danes so that they don’t ravage English lands, Americans will pay it on Danish goods to the American government because America wants to ravage Danish lands.

Is that right?

🤬 How old does this academic journal publisher think I am? Five? And they're actually paying someone to come up with the idea and then someone else to execute it. I despair.

Friends in the NGO/Think-Tank/Policy/Comms world, I’d grab Dan while they’re on the market as you won’t find anyone better at what they do, IMV.
Sadly it is official, my current employment contract finishes at the end of March. It has been a fantastic three years at Migrant Voice. If you, or someone you know, knows of job opportunities for an experienced policy, advocacy and comms person, across multiple sectors, please do let me know.

1/2 Trump has launched an illegal act of aggression against Venezuela.

A clear breach of the Nuremberg principles - which the UK helped write. Now a Labour government won’t even defend them.

This silence isn’t diplomacy. It’s the moral equivalent of a white flag.

I'm writing about the Palestine Action hunger strikers at the moment, any of whom could die at any moment, and the astonishing media and government silence surrounding them. The Establishment seems to have become even crueller than when Thatcher was PM.

He’s had to move from his bedroom to the unconverted attic

Cardboard floor & headboard is a nice touch which I’m sure he appreciates

Unbelievably, #DuvetKnowItsChristmas generates such good will on social media that over the years we've raised somewhere approaching a quarter of a million quid for homeless charities. If you can spare a bob or two, sling some to Centrepoint, and here's the link: www.gofundme.com/f/duvet-know...
