The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.

At this dark time of year I often wonder how much darker the ancient world was. Last winter I tried out my Roman oil lamp, repro of a find from mid 1stC London, beneath Borough High Street. Has a beautiful hobnailed sole🤩. Olive oil, bright light with little smell or smoke, at least initially

There is no way in hell the United States under the Trump regime can host the World Cup in a few months.

They are murdering citizens in broad daylight, threatening war against NATO, and lawlessly kidnapping children and foreign heads of state.

The world has to organize a boycott. It’s not safe.

Perhaps Nigel Farage would like to explain to the families of British soldiers killed in Iraq why he’s such a good pal of Donald ‘bonespurs’ Trump?
Trump on NATO: "I've always said, will they be there if we ever needed them? That's really the ultimate test. I'm not sure of that. We've never needed them. They'll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan and this or that. And they did. They stayed a little back, off the front lines."

We can't fight back with hard but we have oodles of soft power. Lets:

1. Cancel the world FIFA WC.

2. Have a anti-Trump super concert at Wembley with all the US rock stars.

3. Requisition his UK golf courses and turn them into army training areas.

Hello. We're new here. 👋

Wondering what devil's porridge is? Sir Arthur Conan Doyle coined the phrase to describe the explosive materials he saw munitions workers at H.M. Factory Gretna mixing in large pans. They were making cordite.

Please don't eat devil's porridge. 💥

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition,

The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance

Iconic imo

This is haunting...

It's the oldest piece of music for which we have both the words and the notes. A song to the Hurrian goddess Nikkal, it was written on clay tablets around 3500 years ago, and was discovered in the 1950s in the ruins of the ancient city of Ugarit.

Former Conservative chancellor Nadhim Zahawi has defected to Reform UK.

(He was sacked by Rishi Sunak in 2023 after the PM’s independent ethics adviser found he’d broken ministerial rules by failing to disclose that while he was chancellor, his tax affairs were under investigation by HMRC)
