Appreciated the liminal aesthetic of the far back corner of my local AMC where my The Mastermind showtime was tucked away. Most of the poster frames are empty, but a few are randomly filled with construction paperwork.

the morning after my brain is melting over the Vietnam stuff at the periphery of The Mastermind and how it ultimately gets tangled up with the narrative. Just the most genius shit. Also shout-out to @chrisvfeil.bsky.social for this correct take

In daylights, in sunsets
In midnights, in cups of coffee
In inches, in miles
In sixty nine pounds
In five hundred twenty-five thousand, six hundred minutes
How do you measure the average man’s bounds?

I'm a demiurge
Also, I'm not a "creator." I'm a writer.
No other word has done more damage to the craft of writing in recent years than “content”. Even if you’re using the word “content” ironically, or as a cute little joke, don’t. When someone calls writing “content” they’re pissing on someone’s hard work & passion. “Content” is Technosatan’s henchword.

Obviously I’m a little late to this compared to some but Kelly Reichardt has really snuck up with her last three movies to become a contender for my favorite living narrative filmmaker

personally I think it's awesome that 80% of movies on letterboxd appear on 50 extremely popular lists with names like "movies that are SUPER SICK" populated by like 100,000 titles impossible to navigate and that all of these lists make up the first several pages of what lists a film appears in

A choice episode if you want to hear me get bitchy (once again) and talk about Kierkegaard, CS Lewis, and 19 year olds with terrible facial hair who think they are going to defeat Immanuel Kant two weeks into their first philosophy class

The big question that will determine whether or not I bother with it: does Pluribus have *episodes* like Breaking Bad or *season-long-movies* like Better Call Saul?
