The Bear that Made Milwaukie Famous
opb.org OPB @opb.org · 9h
If a bear poops in the woods, it might be in your next beer. Columbia Sportswear, in partnership with Milwaukie-based Breakside Brewery, has unveiled a new beer featuring a wildly unique ingredient: bear feces. The new brew is called “Nature Calls.”
Swallow this crap. Columbia unveils new beer made from real bear poop
Created in anticipation of the Super Bowl, “Nature Calls” is a lager made from water infused with American black bear scat collected on trails in Montana, along with malted grains in the Pacific Northwest.

"Quizzical but intrigued?"

#HumbleBragg
I saw Billy Bragg perform in Minneapolis right after the 1998 election when Jesse. Ventura “shocked the world” by winning the race for governor. In a bit of commentary from the stage Bragg seemed a bit quizzical but intrigued by our politics.
I wrote this yesterday about the hero city of Minneapolis

It’s a donation. The opinion section was also a donation
Amazon spent $40m to acquire this documentary (the next largest is, I think, Disney’s $12-15m for SUMMER OF SOUL) and is spending another $35m to market it.
On tonight’s White House agenda:

Trump and guests will get a private screening of MELANIA, the documentary about the First Lady, @thr.com reports.

Attendees include Apple CEO Tim Cook, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, Mike Tyson, per the article.

First time the daily newspaper based in Minneapolis has put a QR code on the front page (linking to their online coverage in this case), I believe. With the paper printed in Iowa now, the Saturday deadline for the Sunday issue is 2:30pm.

It can be a hard pill to swallow but you have to accept that while you will prevail in this struggle, you may not be there to witness it.
Nonviolence is, in fact, working. This administration is weaker than it was a year ago. More and more of the public is becoming galvanized against it; its agents are being impeded.
Do you honestly think people in the civil rights movement and other nonviolent movements faced no violence themselves? They practiced nonviolence because it works, because the oppressor wants a shooting war, which is the war it will win
