yeah disagree here, because CECOT had vanished almost entirely since the Venezuelan migrants were let out in the summer, any degree of attention they are getting for crimes in the rear view mirror is bad for them (and Bari's reputation)
I'll be a bummer & say that I expect people expecting the Weiss decision to pull the story to massively backfire are wrong. very specific to DC complaint here but when trump is threatening to take over the city's historically significant public golf courses so he can privatize them and make them another getaway for the 1% i don't think going "well maybe they shouldnt be golf courses to begin with" is helpful or realistic

The DC public golf courses are what golf *should* be in America and *is* in Scotland, Ireland, and England. They are communal treasures and the opposite of the kind of golf elitism that makes most of Bluesky hate golf. You do not want these courses to get ransacked unless you're just performing

watched the 60 minutes segment. it is obviously horrifying and also i almost certainly would not have watched it unless the dullest person in the world decided to spike it to make her bosses happy (you watch it and any doubt anyone could have over *why* it got spiked goes away almost immediately).
