This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

I don’t know how else to say it…

Don’t know if anyone else can relate to this, but coming of age in the morass of irony poisoned online subcultures, I used to consider myself a cynic, and had a very misguided view of what that actually meant. It was only when I began studying the cynicism so often exuded at the highest levels-

This passage explains why so many elites broke so hard to the right on DEI and Claudine Gay's plagiarism.
The idea they need to bring more to the world than connections and decadent excess is an existential threat to them, because so many of them can offer LITERALLY NOTHING.
The breathtaking, audacious confidence of this passage…

You’re telling me you came up in political journalism of the 2010s and 20s and *never once* worried about job security? Really???

That’s… diagnosable.

An epitaph for Republican members of Congress in the era of Trump: They never failed to fail to step up.

The RSF just attacked a kindergarten, killing at least 33 children in Sudan.

Meanwhile, the Trump Admin. continues to sell arms to the UAE, who are aiding these atrocities.

Imagine if Trump spent as much time trying to stop the killing, as he did getting the UAE to invest in his crypto coin.

The new reporting also highlights that Blinken was constrained by the White House in his pursuit of the postwar plan, as Biden and McGurk et al believed that the more pertinent question was a temporary ceasefire and hostage deal while Blinken believed in the necessity of a comprehensive deal.
