All-purpose information wrangler with an MLIS. These days, electronic resources librarian (née acquisitions); those days, marketing and comms of various kinds.
Passed what looks like a brand new garbage truck while on the bus. Only a quick look, but but it had enormous front windows, visibility out of that thing has to be amazing -- so, keep your eyes peeled for innovations in the waste management space, I guess?

Given the claim that someone took away Greg Bovino's social media accounts: In Chicago (sworn, as if that matters w/a a committed liar) deposition, he claimed he was not competent to Tweet (which, you'd think, would DQ him w/Trump).

Hey hey hey reupping this yet again!! Knowing who we’re fighting & being clear & consistent in our demands matters!! Greg Bovino is/was the head of Border Patrol, which *itself* is only *one branch* of Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) a TOTALLY DIFFERENT AGENCY FROM ICE!!

BREAKING Greg Bovino has been removed as Border Patrol "commander at large" and will return to El Centro Calif, where he is expected to retire soon. A stunning turnaround after Pretti killing. Bovino's traveling blue city crackdown is over www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...

The Border Patrol chief was the public face of a traveling immigration crackdown on cities governed by Democrats.

NEW: There are 2,400+ elections for DA & sheriff this year.

These matter hugely to criminal justice & policing—including: *these are often officials who decide ICE collaboration.*

So I took a dive into these 2,400+ races to identify early hotspots and battlegrounds.

Read, & check out our maps:

People at taken to Whipple are released into the cold in whatever they were wearing without their phones and IDs. Volunteers meet them at release (or find them left in parks and the woods) get them a burner, warm clothes, food, a ride home, etc

This was just me making this comparison yesterday, but today the Korean news is calling Minnesota "America's Gwangju" and have human rights lawyers explaining how America is now living through the dictatorship Korea once had.
The Chun regime that my wife fought against in the 80s did the exact same thing. They needed a "crisis" that "only they could solve" to hoard more ill-gotten power, so they chose one city (Gwangju), declared its inhabitants enemies, sent trucks full of soldiers to violently attack and kill them.

All of us are doing different things, contributing in our own ways, based on our skills, risk tolerance, and assessment of need. But a lot of it is invisible labor, and some of it is people who picked one thing and stuck with it.

Like for every Will Stancil chasing ICE around in his Honda Fit, there are grandmothers delivering groceries or giving vulnerable people rides. But you cannot switch from one to the other, and certainly not in the same car.

A thing that might not be clear from the outside is that while everyone here is engaged in this fight, ICE’s use of dystopian technology means that you essentially have to pick a lane between observing ICE and doing mutual aid. They are tracking observers’ cars, and taking pictures of their faces.

2. ICE has not paid any third-party providers for medical care for detainees since October 3, 2025. Last week, ICE posted a notice on an obscure government website announcing it will not begin processing such claims until at least April 30, 2026.

I just hadn't taken a good look at the abyss in a while, and whew do we have work ahead of us
