Super Mario Bros. 3 contains a bizarre "vengeful Thwomp" glitch. Normally, if a Thwomp is hit by a hammer, it just dies. However, if a diagonal Thwomp is hit in the topmost position, it will perform a jump after dying just to get one last revenge attack in.

I was telling one of my kids that it was physically impossible for an ad to play between songs on any of the records I own, and they asked "and you only have to pay for it once?" and you could see how strange that seemed. You cannot overstate how many basic rules of media consumption have changed.

The real problem with modern action platformers is only male protagonists are allowed to be truly irritating people. When the player character is a female she's gotta be either an irony poisoned "well, THAT just happened" quip droid, or all stoic and shit. We need to let girls be sincerely annoying.

Atlyss rapidly becoming one of my favorite indie projects of all time. I think steam cloud integration and full, proper gamepad support was what tipped it over and everything else is just cementing its position
