Many commiserations on your post hitting the Discover feed and being found by Americans.
All my moots* are joining the Green Party.

I love these Tory cunts doing the "Hur hur hur income tax is going up!"; apparently we're supposed to forget it was the Conservatives who started it all the way back in the 2021 budget.
British politics is now just about making up a guy and assuming he will vote for you

Guess it's time to put my money where my mouth is...

@dov.bsky.social's discourse makes my head hurt.
November 27, 2025 at 7:39 PM
I did not know this but it explains a whole lot.
It literally comes from crank academics who figured White people came off Noah’s ark, which landed in the Caucasus mountains in the bible, and headed west and north

A reminder (*sigh*) that alt text is not there for you to hide your neat little joke.

The thing is if they'd got in and said "Look, we fully intend to do this ASAP but we've got to put a proper budget together and figure out how to fund it. In the meantime we'll offer emergency measures for the worst affected." then I could have cut them some slack.
Pretending to have ever given a shit about child poverty, after voluntarily maintaining the two-child benefit cap & suspending seven of your own MPs who wanted it scrapped, looks like exactly what it is—incredible cowardice, mendacity & hypocrisy.

A terrible politician & a worse person.

The "don't have an extra kid if you can't afford it" brigade get awfully upset when you suggest they don't stay in their £2m house if they can't afford it, don't they?

It's amazing I know, but Labour can still find some manifesto commitments to break.

The right will now be introduced after six months, in a breach of Labour's election manifesto.

Can I also point how much it boils my piss that these clowns are looking at a migration curve with an unnaturally large spike on it caused by a once-in-a-generation event that basically froze worldwide travel for 2 entire years. 998k in 2023 was a correction! It was always going to come down!

I ain't clicking on a button 70 times.

I can't wait for net migration to be negative for a couple of years and watching it slowly dawn on politicians that they've re-created the DDR is what they've done.
As I’m sure you’re well aware, this predates any of the cuts in the White Paper (which are supposed to cut net migration by about 100,000- but this is clearly an underestimate) and before the emigration of graduate visa holders peaks.

This is going much, much lower.

What's interesting and perhaps subtle is that European countries tend to do nationalism in a "Hey look at all the cool stuff we have!", while British nationalism tends to be "Woo! We're the best! You owe us!" with no substance behind it.

"It's actually completely okay to try to get people chose a risky investment vehicle that may go down in value over a stable savings scheme that many people take advantage of" is a shit take and you can fuck off with that.
