"most men either neglect or despise women and either support or are bystanders for sexual assault and murder to the point where hegemonic manhood is inextricable from misogyny" is like just an elementary observation if you are a woman and some kind of existential personal attack if you are a man
To be fair, this kind of thing can happen if you've never actually talked to any women.

All this to say, there have always been a contingent of older white people who helped immigrants integrate and build communities within the Twin Cities. I remember they gave up a lot of time, effort, and resources for us. It’s not super surprising to me that they’re out now, protesting in force.
