I also got to have a pizza party with a group of 5th grades and they asked me questions and we talked about our Halloween costumes and they were all so nice!

And I got to take a whole box of pizza home because there was a lot left over 😭🍕

I’ve been very fortunate to be asked to do a bunch of school visits the past month. Today I did another one and was welcomed and treated with so much love by everyone, especially the students. Thanks for having me as always 💙

I vividly remember watching the show during class time and not having a clue who practically anyone was beyond like a select few who were popular, but popular in the sense they were so beloved in the picture book world for changing the landscape of storytelling and art making.

And it was great.

I’m very glad Reading Rainbow is being revived as a long time lover of the program. My main hope is that they showcase a large variety of book authors and not just celebrities who have written books.

I hope we go beyond follower count/fame and highlight books by folks pushing the medium.
