I oppose certain societal injustices, however people anticipating that because of that I will help reinforce their precious sense of victimhood are in for a very sharp shock.

That's emotional empathy. I don't do emotional empathy.

Here's why - Harper's Handy Guide to Empathy:
Seek to legitimise racism : Nazis ✅️, Reform ✅️
Target innocent minorities : Nazis ✅️, Reform ✅️
Economically incompetent : Nazis ✅️, Reform ✅️
Politically corrupt : Nazis ✅️, Reform ✅️
Support oppressive regimes: Nazis ✅️, Reform ✅️
Fake populist claims: Nazis ✅️, Reform ✅️

Maybe the Nazi claims aren't wrong?
Tories finally respond to the Kevin Hollinrake Reform/Nazi row.

Spokesman: "Reform need to get off social media and explain why they’re so cozy with Russia and want more welfare."

Not sure it's Reform who need to get off social media, tbh

Given up on Pluribus. The concept is far too generic and the main character is utterly unlikeable but mostly because it is suffering horrendously from being massively overstretched like so many streamed series these days. The first 3 episodes should have been a single one. Not recommended.

The sheer tonnage of uninformed media speculation about this week's UK budget would stun a team of oxen.

It is incredibly tedious.

My career path.

A flat straight line which was by design. I used to drive HR mad by resisting their attempts at moving me to a management role. "I have no desire to enter ICI's expendable middle management team" in my annual review convinced them. It was a really good call as it turned out.

Living through the down slope of human civilisation's bell curve was never going to be easy.

On the positive side, there's much worse to come. So enjoy this if you can.
Do you all feel absolutely crazy as I do with everything going on? Please say yes

Unsurprising, given how enthusiastically the Catholic faith has embraced child rape in its shameful history.
The Catholic League's response to the Epstein files? Arguing technicalities over the ages of the victims.

They're not defending faith. They're enabling harm.

The UK is too dependent on the United States for its defense and has not adequately invested in a back-up plan should America pull away from Europe, a damning report by a cross-party group of lawmakers has warned.

The cross-party Defence Committee says Europe will be “left vulnerable” if the U.S. backs away.

Do these immigrants have to bring the cows into the country as checked-in luggage or can they go in the overhead bins?
I knew they blamed immigrants for everything, but I didn’t think they would blame immigrant cows for hamburger prices.

I'm looking for a comprehensive list of NFL and MLB team names to add to my Bluesky muted words list.

Although I'm interested in American politics, mostly for nuclear fallout spread reasons, I have zero interest in their local sports activities. It's really irritating that tags aren't used more.
