I oppose certain societal injustices, however people anticipating that because of that I will help reinforce their precious sense of victimhood are in for a very sharp shock.

That's emotional empathy. I don't do emotional empathy.

Here's why - Harper's Handy Guide to Empathy:
Yup.

AI is the 21st century's religion: Preying on the gullible and the stupid, telling them believable lies, manipulating people into conforming.

It's been done before - paganism, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and the rest. All the same bullshit.

It worked then. It'll work again.

Shameful on the part of the BBC who are supposed to represent the *whole* of Britain, not just the bits its right-wing management thinks it should.

I'm rapidly getting to the point where I no longer care if the BBC dies.

BBC Radio 4’s The Infinite Monkey Cage brilliant co-host Robin Ince has resigned & his graceful & eloquent letter says a lot about the issues the media is facing today.
I’d advise you to read it all because it’ll likely be cherry-picked (or strawberry-picked) by some using it for political reasons
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

We've seen this show twice - once as paying customers, once as guests at the very first public rehearsal. It's brilliant!

There is significant satisfaction and validation in reading someone posting an outraged message about some reality show and me knowing that I have absolutely no idea what they're whittering on about.

…which will probably be next.

I think Transactual put it best (in reference to the girl guides) and now Labour too:

"There is no problem being solved here, only harm being done."

All to appease the right, who hate them anyway - shame on them.

Trump seemed very happy to get his FIFA Peace Prize - just imagine his delight when he takes off the foil wrapping and finds the chocolate underneath.

Awake stupid early (4am here), so Test Match Special on the headphones, listening to the Ashes, it is.

Getting flashbacks to the glorious summer of '76 listening to John Arlott while laying in the sun in the back garden. I think it was the West Indies when they were at their peak. Great memories.

World Cup Draw: I've never understood why people watch stuff that upsets them.

I don't watch F1 because it's boring, I never watch football for the same reason, I dont watch Sky News because it's biased, I don't watch BBC News because they're useless...

Just turn the damned thing off! Read a book.
