I think it's silly to say historic neighborhoods are somehow not being destroyed by modern vehicles parked in the street, but are completely and irrevocably ruined by one (1) apartment building existing.

Yeah I live in LA where people are constantly trying to get parking lots historically designated. There was a public freakout that a Norms location might become a different restaurant. HPOZs in LA magically went from 8 in 2000 to 36 today.
