I'm excited but a bit sad to announce that I've left Bellingcat to start a nonprofit investigative outlet focused on the far-right. We're called Decoherence Media, and we're launching today.
Welcome to Decoherence Media, an independent nonprofit founded by @jennefer.bsky.social and @tristanl.ee that investigates authoritarian and anti-democratic movements using open-source and data-driven methods.

Last week the awesome @harold.bsky.social rocked up to my desk bearing gifts.

Hal had collected almost all 900K Grokipedia entries and compared them to their Wikipedia equivalents for text and citation similarity.

My source says one person was injured and taken to the hospital—and that the protester was arrested.

After months of verification and mapping, the archive now includes 248 confirmed white phosphorus strikes across South Lebanon (2023-2024).

Only incidents with visual evidence were used, then geolocated, verified, and cross-checked with satellite imagery

Part of my PhD research at TU Delft.
NEW: We’ve added 53 more white phosphorus strikes to our archive whitephosphorus.info, bringing the total to 248 verified and geolocated incidents across South #Lebanon (2023–2024).

The IDF says these were used as smokescreens, away from civilians.

Our findings show otherwise. 🧵
