Fuck Bertie. But also fuck this trash reporting that fails to mention that Sexual Predator George Mitchell was named in court depositions (that he never challenged) as far back as 2003. He’s a scumbag. Reporting like this shames journalism. Report properly or shut up.

A good example of why we need actual debate on the TL & Irish neutrality, & why we need to hear more from experts like @DondeNiamh.

Niamh uses facts to cut through the usual bluster and shows why the TL really matters.

I don't normally attach such critical descriptions to Ireland's elected leaders. Their job is hard. They know stuff I don't.
But here is why I make an exception. They send the AG to tell the ICJ the law re OPT. They solicit votes by promising to deliver.
Elected, they do the corporations' bidding.

Regardless of what you think of the Triple Lock, the Government's efforts to remove it without a referendum is anti-democratic and flies in the face of any claims about 'reclaiming sovereignty' over foreign policy.

When people voted No to the EU Nice treaty changes 25 years ago the Govt. said it thought we were worried about EU military entanglements.
So to reassure us, they pledged to keep that law in place.
A pledge they repeated after the next EU treaty No in 2008.
They've decided to break their word.

The UN Charter outlaws armed aggression against another country. The Constitution of Ireland commits our country to abide by this rule.
That's why we have a law saying members of our DF can only be ordered into a foreign battlefield if the UN okays it.
Govt wants to change that to please .. someone.
